What is the best power source for a camping fridge?

Whilst on the road: you can simply plug your fridge into your vehicle’s 12V cigarette socket, whilst the engine is running it will generate electricity to power your fridge. However once the engine is turned off you the fridge may begin to drain your vehicle cranking battery. Can a camping fridge run on solar power?

A portable camping fridge will always require a power source (a battery or power pack). It is not possible to plug a solar panel directly into the fridge. Instead the solar panel should be plugged into the battery, and the fridge will then draw power from the battery itself.
